Oviedo's defeat at Cordoba completed a wretched season for the Asturian side, who last played in the regional third division 24 years ago.
They have experienced a dramatic fall from grace since they were relegated after 13 years in the top flight two seasons ago when coached by Radomir Antic, who is now at Barcelona.
Oviedo have gone through three coaches in the present campaign and have been plagued by serious financial difficulties that have cast doubts over the club's future.
Badajoz dropped out of the second division last week, but the last two relegation places will not be decided until the final game of the season.
