Mourinho axes chatty Real Madrid captain Casillas: Adan needed game

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho insists he wasn't sending a message to Iker Casillas after axing him for the Bernabeu Trophy last night.

There's reports that Mourinho is unhappy Casillas is attempting to set up peace talks with Barcelona's Spain players after last week's controversy.

"Casillas can talk on the phone with anyone, he does not need my permission," insisted Mourinho.

"Antonio (Adan) needed to play, he is young and before arriving at Madrid had not played a single minute. Last season he started playing a little, and we believe that he has potential. Today was a perfect match for him, and he performed like a proper Real goalkeeper."
