Moro set for new contract deal

Real Madrid are preparing a three-year extension to striker Fernando Morientes' contract according to local radio reports.

The radio station has claimed that the 25-year-old frontman has reached a new agreement with the club that could be sealed in the next few days.

Moro joined Real in 1997 from Zaragoza and almost immediately became the partner of strike ace Raul Gonzalez, netting an average of 15 goals per season.

Real are keen to see that the player stays on at the club while numerous offers have been flooding in from foreign clubs, eager to acquire his services.

Contract renewals are also pending for Aitor Karanka and Iker Casillas, with the two stars expected to pen new deals with Real before the start of the pre-season.
