Morientes To Snub Loan Move To Spurs

Fernando Morientes looks set to reject an attempt by Tottenham to sign him on loan for the rest of the season.

The Real Madrid striker has lost his first team place at the Bernabeu following Ronaldo's arrival at the start of the season.

He came close to joining Barcelona before the transfer deadline came into place in the summer, while Tottenham were known to be seriously interested in the striker at the same time.

The players agent Gines Carvajal said: "A third party has contacted me to tell me that there is an offer from Tottenham for Morientes to go on loan until the end of the season, but we are not interested in a loan deal."

It is understood Morientes wants to see out this season with the European champions before he decides where his future should be.
