Morientes to leave Real Madrid?

In the summer Fernando Morientes almost left Real Madrid but he preferred to stay with the wealthiest club in Europe. Now he is thinking again of leaving the club because he is not playing.

He could have gone to Inter as a replacement for Ronaldo but he didn't want to so the Italian club bought Hernan Crespo. He could have gone to Lazio to replace the Argentinian. He could have gone even to Tottenham who were begging him to go to London but he wanted to stay with the European Champions.

Fernando Morientes knows well that there is life after Real Madrid but he doesn't know where he can find that. Real Betis is the new candidate for the Spanish international striker who has found himself being the fourth or fifth option for Real's offence behind Raul, Ronaldo, Guti and even the youngster Portillo.

What can he do now? He can go to Betis were a search for a striker is on. The Madrid club can still offer him to Inter in December as an exchange for Ronaldo but they prefer to send him on loan to Betis so they could have an option for Spanish international right winger Joaquin.

All of these are rumours generated in the last hours and don't you dear leave out Manchester United who as we know are looking for a striker at least for domestic competition and surely Morientes can fill that role in Sir Alex Ferguson's squad.
