Morientes Knows Next Season Will Be Better

Fernando Morientes believes that he will play regularly next season, but is still unsure with which team that will be.

After a move to Roma, Inter and Tottenham Hotspur failed to materialise last summer, the Spanish international has played a bit-part role at the Bernabeu this term.

Morientes has not started a single game this season and could well be tempted to demand a transfer this summer or hold on and walk away for nothing in 2004.

"I am convinced that next season I will play a lot more," he said. "Whether that is with Real Madrid or another club remains to be seen."

"Nobody is ever able to promise that you can start every match, but since the start of this season I have been fighting for a place in the team."

"I have been at this club six years and every summer there is talk of me leaving, but I haven't.

"I have one more season on my contract with Madrid and I would love to stay here, but in football you never know what will happen."
