Morientes fired up for Bayern

Real striker Fernando Morientes claims he has recovered his form and is ready to face Bayern Munich in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final.

Morientes has been dogged by injuries this season, forcing team coach Vicente Del Bosque to rethink how he can put to rights the loss of his favoured strike partnership of Raul and Morientes.

But Morientes believes that he has shaken off his niggling groin injury and desperately wants the chance to star in the side on Wednesday.

"Nobody wants to play more than I do," the player said on Tuesday - and it looks like he will be granted his wish.

Del Bosque tested Morientes out in training on Monday and the striker responded by netting seven goals, four of them with his head.

However, fellow striker Raul Gonzalez has not been able to train with his team-mates as he is still suffering from a muscular sprain to his left leg.

Doctors are confident that Raul will be ready in time for the Champions League second leg.
