Moratti: Mourinho left Italy - not Inter Milan - for Real Madrid

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti believes Jose Mourinho's bitter relationship with the media forced him into the arms of Real Madrid.

Mourinho's appointment as new Real coach was confirmed yesterday.

“As far as I am concerned, nothing changes with Mourinho, as he has worked well with us,” said Moratti.

“His goodbye does not ruin the respect there was between us. The door remains half-open for him, ready to be opened again."

“In my view Mourinho didn’t leave Inter as such, he left Italy. Perhaps he didn’t get over certain wounds from the last two years and his personality also leads him to always go seeking new adventures.”
