Moratti Hints That Solari Move Is Imminent

Inter president Massimo Moratti has hinted at a press conference that Santiago Solari's move from Real Madrid is imminent.

"Solari is a first choice," the club's official site quoted him as saying. "We just need to question how much Inter need Solari and how much Solari needs Inter. We still have a little time left to understand this."

"We will speak with the player to reach an agreement, and if he comes, then that's very good - on a footballing level I don't have any doubts. The only doubts are about how quickly he will fit in."

Moratti, though, admitted that the fact that Solari couldn't play in the Champions League was a blow.

"It has its weight," he continued. "It's a shame, also because he has been fielded out of spite."

When asked about the possibility of Luciano joining if Solari didn't, he added: "It's the same as what I said about Giggs - these are I things I have only read about in the newspapers. Our intention would be that of not buying anyone."

He also said the return of Roberto Carlos may be possible in the future.
