A bashful Santiago Solari, Real Madrid's Argentine midfielder, disclosed Saturday that despite being voted the sexiest footballer of 2002 he never checked his looks in the mirror.
The 26-year-old international, receiving the award from television station Canal +, said: "I never look in the mirror. The important thing is that I please my girlfriend."
"We'll have to see now whether this leads to a film career!"
Real are studying offers for Solari after his proposed move to Inter Milan fell through.
Real needed to furnish the Italians with either a player or cash of 10 million euros as part of the deal which saw them pay 35 million euros to Inter for Brazil's World Cup hero Ronaldo last summer.
Solari's switch never came off after the player turned down the chance to join the Italian giants.
