MLS put together bumper package for Real Madrid's Beckham

MLS chiefs are ready to offer unhappy Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham a bumper final pay-day to finish his career in the United States.
 
The Mirror says the former England captain, 31, has set a deadline of just six games to win back his place at Real Madrid - otherwise he will quit at the end of his contract next summer.

That has opened the door for the MLS who are discussing introducing a unique "Beckham rule" to meet his contract demands - he currently earns in excess of £150,000-a-week - within a strict wage cap system.

Beckham has hinted he would like to finish his career in America and MLS commissioner Don Garber said: "We need to have a higher quality of play, and perhaps in certain markets a star player will help us get there."
