Miranda To Replace Pepe?

It's being reported that Inter Milan defender Joao Miranda has been identified by Real Madrid as the potential replacement for Pepe in the back line.

Spanish outlet AS reports that Los Blancos directors have suggested that the reported highly in form defended could be a longer term option, as he has two years on Pepe and has certainly been making a name for himself in Serie A following his summer arrival from Atletico Madrid.

With Pepe already turning 33 and his contract due to expire over the summer, with no new deal seemingly on the horizon, the 31 year old Brazilian is at least speculated as an option.

Having made the move to the San Siro on a less than straight forward two year loan reportedly worth around the 4million Euro mark, it does include a permanent buy clause said to be worth another 11million Euros that comes into play in July of 2017.

Should our interest - embargo not withstanding - be accurate, any talks over a deal would have to include Atletico as technically he remains their player.

I really don't know how he's doing at Inter, but stats wise he's got 28 games under his belt since his arrival there, one goal, eight yellow cards and one sending off.

His goal came in his last run out against Sampdoria on February 20.
