Milito Puts On A Brave Face

Argentine defender Gabriel Milito has promised to bounce back after his dream move to Real Madrid collapsed in the eleventh hour as the result of an alleged knee problem that was discovered during his medical.

"I am very calm," insisted the talented young centre-back, "and I am anxious to show the world of football that I am in perfect condition."

Milito went on to say that he would most like to remain in Spain despite that adversity that greeted him on his arrival.

"I really want to play in Spain but if I don't get the chance I'll do continue where I left off with Independiente."

"It's pointless to dwell on what could have been at Real Madrid. All I want to do now is continue growing as a player by playing football."

"I want to keep my opinion about Real Madrid to myself though I will say that although I don't agree with their decision I respect it."

Real Zaragoza are reportedly preparing to weigh in with a bid, though there is the possibility that Milito will be offered the perfect shot at revenge if Atletico Madrid act on their long-held interest.
