Milan want Barcelona's Puyol, Real Madrid defender Salgado

AC Milan are preparing a double raid on the Spanish Liga to boost their defence.

The loss of Rivaldo is amply covered with the emergence of Brazilian sensation Kaka.

However, vice-president Adriano Galliani and trainer Carlo Ancelotti know they need to boost their defensive stocks - particularly at fullback.

Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol and Real Madrid right-back Michel Salgado are both on Milan's agenda for the coming months.

Milan can begin talks with Salgado in January, with the Spanish international out of contract next June.

Puyol is currently in talks with Barca about restructuring his contract and Milan hope to take advantage by offering a mega deal to move to Serie A next season.
