Milan Statement: Shevchenko Not For Sale

Milan have once again stated that Andrei Shevchenko is not for sale, this time in an official statement.

The Gazzetta dello Sport had reported that there would be a meeting between the Rossoneri and Real Madrid before next week's Champions League match, with the possible swap of Shevchenko for Luis Figo the item on the agenda.

However, a statement read: "Andrei Shevchenko is absolutely not for sale."

"There is a close relationship between the clubs and a personal friendship between (Real) president Florentino Perez and (Milan) general manager Adriano Galliani, but Tuesday will only be an official lunch on the eve of the game."

"There are no reasons of any other kind for the Rossoneri and Merengues to be at the same table."
