Milan, Real Madrid alerted as Samuel rocks Roma

AS Roma defender Walter Samuel has rocked the club by admitting he could ask for a move at the end of the season.

The Argentine is a target for Real Madrid and AC Milan and said yesterday: "I am not sure of remaining with Roma. It's true that I have a contract that expires in three years time, but it does not depend just on me. The promises they made have not been kept, it's a personal thing."

Samuel also gave encouragement to Milan, adding: "I don't think joining Real would be good for me. They're not suited for defenders. Instead, I want to know if Roma want to keep me."

Samuel's current contract is worth £1 million-a-year, but he wants it hiked up to £1.7 million-a-year.
