Milan, Porto favourites to progress to semi-finals

Holders AC Milan go to Deportivo Coruna on Wednesday to close out a Champions League quarter-final they lead 4-1 after the first leg.

Depor's chances of overturning the deficit are hampered by the likely absence of influential defender Lionel Scaloni and in-form winger Victor.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti must decide whether to play Italy international Filippo Inzaghi or Danish forward Jon Dahl Tomasson alongside top scorer Andriy Shevchenko.

Tomasson has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season but his major contribution is to act as a foil for the lively Shevchenko and hold the ball up for the Brazilian Kaka.

Central defender Alessandro Nesta, who missed the first leg with injury, is fit again and will partner captain Paolo Maldini in the centre of defence.

In Wednesday's other quarter-final, Olympique Lyon host Porto with the Portuguese league leaders favourites to progress after a 2-0 first-leg win.

Lyon, who lost top spot in Ligue 1 at the weekend, will have to do so without injured Brazilian defender Claudio Cacapa and playmaker Eric Carriere. French striker Sidney Govou has also been ruled out.
