Salgado could be tempted by a move to Italy after his repeated criticisms of Madrid's handling of the protracted Ronaldo transfer during the summer.
He was not impressed that several players were publicly named as makeweights in the move to bring the Brazilian to the Bernabeu from Inter.
But Madrid are ready to counter any move for Salgado, by offering to increase his current deal during talks between the player's agents and Real's sporting director Jorge Valdano.
