Milan, Barcelona, PSV reach last 16 while Gunners have two sent off in another tie

AC Milan, Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven advanced Wednesday night to the second round of the European Champions League, but Arsenal had two players ejected and played its fourth straight tie.

AC Milan (4-1) beat visiting Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0 as Hernan Crespo and Kaka scored twice.

Barcelona (3-1-1), with a goal from Samuel Eto'o, clinched the second berth from Group F with a 1-1 tie against Glasgow Celtic, which was eliminated.

Arsenal (1-0-4) gained a 1-1 tie at PSV Eindhoven (3-1-1) in Group E despite finishing two men short because Bisan Lauren and Patrick Viera each got two yellow cards. Andre Ooijer put PSV ahead in the eighth minute, but Thierry Henry tied it in the 31st.

Internazionale of Milan (3-0-2), already assured of advancing, played a 1-1 tie at Werder Bremen (3-1-1). Valerien Ismael's penalty four minutes into the second half but the German champion ahead, but Obafemi Martins tied the score in the 55th.

Chelsea (4-0-1), also assured a spot in the second round, played a 0-0 tie at home against Paris-Saint Germain (1-2-2).

Manchester United and Bayern Munich clinched spots Tuesday night to join Juventus of Turin and Lyon, who also have advanced to the second round.

The final first-round games are Dec. 7 and 8.
