Following Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat at Juventus in midweek in the Champions League, club sporting director Predrag Mijatovic has been called into action to seek out a right winger during the winter transfer window.
The team’s right flank was exposed as the main attacking weakness during the loss in Turin and the club are now desperate to find a suitable replacement for the position left vacant by David Beckham a year ago.
According to Marca, one of the names rumoured to be on Mijatovic’s Christmas list is CSKA Moscow midfielder, Alan Dzagoev. The 18 year old is a natural central attacking midfielder who is also capable of playing as a right winger and a secondary forward.
He has been one of the revelations in the Russian League this season where he has already netted eight goals. And he was instrumental again in his side’s 3-0 win over Deportivo La Coruña last night in the Champions League when he struck twice.
Even though Los Blancos may not move in for him eventually, all signs are suggesting that the club will most likely engage in the winter transfer activity.
