Mijatovic: Signing Ronaldo Or Cesc Is Impossible

Predrag Mijatovic has stated that signing Cristiano Ronaldo or Cesc Fàbregas for Real Madrid is impossible and that the Spanish club is not even going to try.

Los Merengues' sporting director spoke out after a fresh round of speculation about Ronaldo swept through the Spanish and British media after an interview with the player's mother.

Although Mijatovic admits that he would love to see both players at the Bernabéu he recognised that prising either away from their current clubs is not feasible.

"It is obvious that a player like Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome here, but he is at a great club in Manchester United. I see him as an impossible signing," he said.

Fàbregas was strongly linked with a move to Madrid last summer and the speculation continued as the season began about the possibility of a future move, but Mijatovic cannot see it.

"It is the same thing," he continued. "We are not the only team that would like to have a player like Cesc, but he belongs to a great club like Arsenal and it is impossible to sign him."

"I have said clearly that we are not going to waste time on things that we cannot do."

"We will have to see what happens in the future."

"It is indisputable that we are talking about a fascinating player, but to sign him would be incredibly difficult."

Mijatovic then predicted that the coming summer will be a calmer one for Madrid as there will not be the upheaval of the previous two seasons.

"After two intense years, this June will be a lot calmer. We are looking at certain players and weighing things up, but now is not the time. If we cn improve we will," he added.
