Mijatovic Pleased With Attack, Wants Fewer Goals Conceded

Real Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic was happy with the team's attacking display, but made no bones about the fact that the defensive work needed to improve.

Mijatovic was pleased with the 4-3 win over Real Mallorca.

"We all enjoyed ourselves," he said after the game.

"It was important to win tonight, especially after Barcelona's defeat last night.

"We are on the right path. We have focused on having an offensive style."

"Tonight we played with three strikers: Robinho, Raúl and Van Nistelrooy."

"I'm sure the fans are going to enjoy watching this team play, but the season is very long and we must be very careful."

"There are still many games left for us, but things are going well at the moment."

Speaking of the problems enountered by the team, he said: "We suffered a bit, but we also played very well, especially in the second half."

"The fans want to see many goals, but the keeper and the defence prefer not to concede any. Mallorca played brilliantly, but we also wanted to win."

That, indeed, has been the trademark of this Real Madrid side over the last ten months or so. In stark contrast to the three years before that, ever since January, they have refused to give up even when they have been two goals down, which has seen them turn quite a few games around.
