Mijatovic: Impossible for Real Madrid to sign Benzema

Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic regards the signing of Olympique Lyon star Karim Benzema as "impossible".

Mijatovic said: "Benzema is a great player but his team wants him to renew his contract and it will be impossible to prise him out of Olympique Lyon. I see it, frankly, as impossible."

"He's 19 years old, it's his first significant year, has responded very well, and knowing how Olympique work, the idea that they're going to sell such an important player is impossible to see. Surely he's going to renew his contract and in a couple of years become the biggest in the market."
