Mijativoc Backs Robben, Scotches Soldado, Saviola Rumours

Real Madrid sporting director Pedja Mijatovic has scotched speculation linking the club's players with moves away this month, insisting there will be no exits.

A few fringe players have been linked with moves to greener pastures this month, with Roberto Soldado supposedly set for a loan move within La Liga, Royson Drenthe linked with a similar move to Serie A, and Javer Saviola wanted by Bolton.

However, Pedja Mijatovic has poured clod water on all the reports.

"The idea is to maintain the group as it is," he said. "Some would like to play more, but they must understand that they are members of a squad and every player can help and be decisive."

"There are three competitions in which we want to go far."

"The only mentality needed is to train like you're a first team starter. The Julio Baptista case is the best example."

"At a great club, people see it much more when a player does not respond."

He also backed Arjen Robben to overcome his form and fitness worries, and make an impact at the club after a high profile transfer in the summer that has failed to yield the desired results.

"He arrived with an injury and when it was fixed, he hurt himself with Holland," explained Mijatovic. "There, yes, he was injured again."

"He is struggling at the moment, but he will respond and be decisive in next the four or five seasons."

"He is only 23 years old and has much quality. We just need him to relax a little bit, because it has not been mentally easy for him."

"It is too soon to say that we have been mistaken, we need more time. Robben will be very useful."
