Middlesbrough move for Real Madrid's Munitis

Middlesbrough have reportedly registered their interest with Real Madrid for winger Pedro Munitis.

Boro have been trailing the Spanish international since he was made available by Real at the start of preseason.

Real aren't asking a transfer fee for Munitis and are just happy to get the player's wages off their books.

Trainer Carlos Queiroz is reluctant to lose the player, however has been brought around by sports director Jorge Valdano and the club's financial chiefs.

Munitis has been flying in training and would represent an outstanding signing for Boro boss Steve McClaren.
