Middlesbrough confident of deal for Real Madrid's Geremi

Middlesbrough are confident they can sign Real Madrid midfielder Geremi.

The Boro's £3 million offer for the Cameroon international, which was made over a month ago, still stands.

David Beckham's arrival means Geremi will drop further down the pecking order at Madrid and Boro officials are convinced it will hasten his departure.

Real are asking £9 million for Geremi, but will be keen to recoup some of the £25 million they've committed to Manchester United and are likely to drop their asking price.
