Middlesbrough confident of deal for Real Madrid's Flavio

Middlesbrough are continuing talks with Real Madrid over a deal for midfielder Flavio Conceicao.

Boro want to take the Brazilian international on a season-long loan, but Real are only willing to discuss a permanent deal.

The Spanish champs are demanding £8 million for Flavio, but Boro officials are confident they can sign the midfielder for around half that amount.

Boro have been encouraged by the way Real shaved £4 million off their asking price when selling Geremi to Chelsea last week for £7 million.
