Michel returning to Real Madrid as Academy chief

Real Madrid hero Michel is becoming the club's new youth director.

Michel will be in charge of everything to do with Real's youth system setup and replaces Ramon Martinez in the role.

Real president Florentino Perez had been speaking with Michel for some months about the job and was always keen to bring back one of the supporters' favourites to the club.

Michel is now an established media commentator, but knows Real's youth teams inside-out and is excited about his return to the club. The appointment is expected to be made official this week.
