Meija wants Real Madrid stay

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Meija has put aside plans to quit the club this month.

Meija has a loan deal with Getafe in place, but after playing in yesterday's 3-1 win over Cadiz, he said: "I am very happy to have enjoyed minutes and contributed to the team."

"A month ago I had a foot outside of Madrid and now I have had opportunities given to me."

"Now I want to see if I can continue this run. I am going to continue working hard until death."
