McManaman or Munitis to replace Figo

Steve McManaman or Pedro Munitis are expected to replace the suspended Luis Figo for the encounter with Malaga on Saturday.

Coach Vicente Del Bosque must find a replacement for Figo, who is serving a one match ban after being sent off in Real's match at Valencia on August 25.

McManaman would normally be Del Bosque's first option to start instead of Figo on the right wing, but the boss will have to wait until the English midfielder returns from international duty to determine whether he is ready to play.

McManaman is set to arrive back in Spain on Thursday, although he will be too late to take part in any training until Friday.

Pedro Munitis is Del Bosque's other option. The former Racing Santander striker has made a full recovery from a muscle injury and marked his comeback by netting two goals for Real in last week's match against Cartagonova.

Real are expected to stick with their 4-2-3-1 system with a trio of McManaman or Munitis, Zidane and Raul playing behind lone striker Fernando Morientes.
