McManaman Completes Manchester City Move

Steve McManaman has completed his move to Manchester City from Real Madrid after passing a medical.

The former Liverpool winger agreed a two-year contract last night with Kevin Keegan's side, ending his four-year spell with the Spanish champions.

The 31-year-old insists it wasn't a difficult decision to join City, where he will link-up with former Liverpool team-mate and close friend Robbie Fowler.

The former England international told City's website: "This was not a difficult decision. I know a lot of the players here, I have worked with Kevin Keegan before and I am really looking forward to working with him again."

"Manchester City is an exciting place to be and they are a team really on the up."

McManaman, who helped Real to two Champions League titles, was rarely a first-team regular at the Bernabeu, but had frequently insisted he didn't want to return to England.
