Mbappe still refusing to leave PSG, no negotiations with Real Madrid

Despite PSG ramping up their efforts to offload Kylian Mbappe this summer after the falling out between the two parties, the 24-year-old superstar remains reluctant to leave this summer.

Indeed, according to a report from journalist Abdellah Boulma, Mbappe does not envisage the possibility of an exit in the current transfer window and wishes to fulfil his contract with PSG, which expires in 2024, at which point he wants to leave for free.

As things stand, there are no negotiations taking place with Real Madrid, the report adds.

Mbappe came very close to joining Real Madrid last summer until he decided to perform a U-turn and sign a new contract with PSG. The deal was for two years with an option for a third which would only be activated with the consent of the French superstar.

However, earlier this summer, Mbappe informed the Ligue 1 champions that he does not intend to activate the extension option, which would mean that his contract will expire in 2024 at which point he intends to leave for free.

PSG, though, are completely against such a possibility as they do not wish to lose a world-class superstar for free. As such, they have made it clear to Mbappe that he either renews his contract or leaves right now.

In fact, the Parisian giants want the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to make a decision by the end of this week. If not they are ready to stick a price tag on him and start negotiations with interested parties, one of whom are Real Madrid.

As things stand, there are no negotiations taking place with Los Blancos though and Mbappe is not budging on his stance of wanting to see out the remainder of his contract with PSG and leaving for free in 2024.

With there still being plenty of time in the summer transfer window, whether PSG are able to convince him to change his mind remains to be seen.
