Marseille's Diawara: I didn't mean to hurt Ronaldo

Olympique Marseille defender Soulemayne Diawara is sorry to see Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo off his feet with an ankle injury.

Ronaldo faces a month on the sidelines after aggravating the injury suffered in a tackle from Diawara while on international duty with Portugal.

Diawara told AS: "I am sad and this is something that has been tormenting me. I never meant to hurt him."

"The game against Madrid was a dream for me. I think Madrid are the best team in the world."

"At last my dream came true, but because of the defeat and everything that happened with Cristiano it became something gray."
