Marcelo steps up Real Madrid return

Marcelo is stepping up his rehab at Real Madrid.

The Brazilian was the only senior player training at Valdebebas yesterday as he worked with Real coach Jose Luis San Martin. Marcelo suffered an ankle injury last month following his arrival from Fluminense.

Real coach Fabio Capello is anxious to involve the left-sided wing-back in this season's campaign and has been encouraged by the youngster's efforts in training this week - the first time he's been able to work in consecutive days since breaking down.
