Marcelo leaps to defence of Real Madrid pal Benzema

Marcelo has jumped to the defence of Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.

The French striker's low-key performance in the Copa stalemate with Murcia has only created more speculation over his place in coach Jose Mourinho's plans.

"I have no doubt that Karim this season is going to help us a lot," said Marcelo. "When he plays, he will give everything in every match."

"People put him under pressure, but there is no pressure from anyone from Real Madrid."
