Maradona urges Real Madrid to sign "monster" Mascherano

Argentine legend Diego Maradona has told Real Madrid they would be signing a "monster player" if they were to land River Plate youngster Javier Mascherano.

Real are chasing Mascherano, along with Deportivo La Coruna, for the January transfer window.

Maradona said: "He is a monster player. If Real Madrid were to sign him, he would go straight into their starting XI."
