Manzano Slams Ref For Pro-Madrid Decisions

Gregorio Manzano was furious with the referee as he claimed that Mallorca should have had a penalty and Madrid should have had a goal ruled out in the seven-goal thriller in the Bernabéu.

The Balearic club's boss stated that in the opening minutes Mahamadou Diarra handled in the area and was also convinced that Robinho was offside for the hosts' second goal.

"Referees do not go out to benefit or prejudice either team. There were simply two decisions that they did not call and they hurt us," he said.

"If their second goal had been ruled out then we could have drawn at least."

Despite the compliaints, Manzano was delighted with his team's performance over all and believes that if they had managed to keep the ball rather than looking for more goals then they would have taken something.

"We were unable to maintain posession. The team went to look for a fourth goal and when we lost the ball Madrid equalised," he continued.

"Keeping the ball was what we missed, not spirit.

"We played very well I though. I have come away with a positive feeling inside because we did well and attacked."

"To score three goals in the Bernabéu is not something that every team can do and the only negative aspect was the final score."
