Manuel Pellegrini Has Time To Correct Errors At Real Madrid

Real Madrid sporting director Miguel Pardeza has told Marca that coach Manuel Pellegrini has time to correct the mistakes being made by his side, and said that the aim, in terms of playing style, is not to rely on individuals.

Pardeza and Jorge Valdano met with the Chilean coach after the defeat to Sevilla on Sunday to assess the current situation.

"It was an ordinary conversation, in which we exchanged views and viewpoints. Pellegrini knows he has time to correct his mistakes. It is true that he told us he is concerned about the fragility of the team from set-pieces," Pardeza declared.

Pardeza said that Madrid, at present, "are relying on individual moments of inspiration. The goal, of course, is to achieve harmony of team and style, we need time."

He also warned that Los Merengues cannot allow themselves to depend completely on Cristiano Ronaldo to win games.

He continued, "Cristiano is one of the best in the world, but the team should be above all. We cannot rely on the talent of one player. We have a great team and very good players, but they time to set. We must be thoughtful, nerves do not help."

The sporting director also defended Pellegrini's rotation system as a necessary part of a season-long push for titles.

"Rotations are seen as an obstacle to assembling a team. You can win many games with eleven, but to win titles you need a squad," he concluded.
