Manuel Pablo fee set at $US 77m

Depor president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro has told Real Madrid that Manuel Pablo Garcia is available for $US 77m, but they can pay in installments.

Still incensed at Real for contacting the 25-year-old Spanish international before notifying his club, Lendoiro has publicly reminded the Spanish champions that nothing less than the right-back's full buy-out clause will be considered.

And the Depor president has now revealed he would be willing to take the astronomical sum in installments, with a $US 25m downpayment, followed by subsequent sums of close to $US 8m per year.

"If they are prepared to pay the whole amount we will allow them to pay by instalments," he declared, half in jest.

"By doing it this way the sum can be paid over seven years. It's not the same as having to pay the whole amount at a stroke."

The mischievous Lendoiro knows full well that no matter how keen Madrid are to land the player, they would never agree to his scheme.
