Manchester United To Table Club Record Player-Plus-Cash Bid For Real Madrid Star

Manchester United are plotting a stunning bid of £65million plus David de Gea in an attempt to land Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu throughout the summer, and the Mirror reports that United will use him as a makeweight as they try and lure Bale to Old Trafford.

The Welshman came under some scrutiny from sections of the Real Madrid fans last season as a result of numerous underwhelming performances, despite scoring 13 goals and bagging nine assists in his 31 La Liga outings. 

United have had a busy summer of transfer activity, with Angel Di Maria and Robin van Persie among the departures and Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin among those to arrive at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have been relatively quiet on the transfer front, with Danilo, Carlos Casemiro, Lucas Vazquez and Mateo Kovacic the only outfield arrivals.
