Manchester City Agree McManaman Signing

Manchester City have agreed to sign former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman from Real Madrid.

The 31-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with Kevin Keegan's side and is just a medical away from completing his return to the Premiership.

McManaman has failed to hold down a first team spot at Real Madrid since joining them three years ago.

The Spanish champions have been trying to slash their wage bill and also released Pedro Munitis earlier this week.

"We are delighted with the move for Steve as this shows our intent to continue to drive forward," Manchester City chairman John Wardle confirmed.

"By bringing in players of the calibre of McManaman and Claudio Reyna, we are showing a real ambition to progress."
