Man Utd to rattle Real Madrid with Sneijder bid

Manchester United are weighing up a shock move for Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

DiarioSport says United fancy hitting back at Real over their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo by moving for Sneijder after his stunning performance in Euro2008 with Holland.

Real have already insisted through intermediaries that Sneijder is not for sale, but United boss Sir Alex Ferguson may move for the midfielder as he seeks a long-term replacement for veteran Paul Scholes.
