Man Utd's Van Nistelrooy to join Real Madrid in days

Real Madrid expect to wrap up the signing of Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy by Tuesday.

Van Nistelrooy has already agreed personal terms over a three-year contract with Real, which have offered £8 million for the Dutchman.

United want £10 million and are also seeking extra payments based on success similar to the deal that took David Beckham to Real three years ago.

Real president Ramon Calderon is flexible and an agreement is already close to being struck.
