Man Utd's Ronaldo tells agent he wants Madrid

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo wants a move to Real Madrid.

AS says those close to Ronaldo and his agent, Jorge Mendes, say the Portuguese has chosen Real ahead of Barcelona as his next destination and is ready to quit Old Trafford at the end of this season.

Ronaldo wants to emulate the success of his idol, Luis Figo, and Real directors Pedja Mijatovic, Franco Baldini and Jose Angel Sanchez are all aware of his ambitions.

The winger has held several rounds of talks with Mendes and is aware that United will fight tooth-and-nail for him. Real president Ramon Calderon is prepared to go as high as £35 million for the winger, which still falls well short of the £45 million United consider a reasonable price to begin negotiations.
