Man Utd receive £1M less for Beckham fee

Manchester United will receive £1 million less from Real Madrid than what was originally believed would be David Beckham's transfer fee.

United confirmed to the Stock Exchange this morning that they would be receiving an £11.1 million one-off payment from the Spanish club - rather than £12.1 million which was going to be spread over the next four years as the second part of the deal.

United received £5.2 million when Beckham signed over the summer and are due another £7 million depending on success over the period of Beckham's four-year deal.

The total amount is worth £23.5 million if all requirements are met.
