Man Utd raid Real Madrid for fitness specialist

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has raided Real Madrid for health guru Valter di Salvo.

Old Trafford No 2 Carlos Queiroz - boss of Real last season - persuaded Fergie the Italian, 40, is the right man to help lead United's revival.

David Beckham partly blamed Di Salvo for his lack of fitness last season and The Sun says the Italian is upset over the claims.

Di Salvo, who worked for Sven Goran Eriksson at Lazio, is a believer in using hi-tech methods to measure fitness.

He is considered in his own country to be the most innovative and daring fitness coach in Europe and new Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini wanted him to work at the San Siro.
