Man Utd prepare £14M bid for Real Madrid No1

Manchester United are stepping up their interest for Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The Sun says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has made it clear to Casillas' agent United are willing to offer the Spanish No 1, a weekly salary of more than £100,000 - nearly FOUR times his Bernabeu pay packet.

Casillas, 23, has been angered by Real president Florentino Perez's refusal to discuss a new deal.

Perez said: "The end of the season will be the time to study this and other subjects. Everything will be dependent on what the results are."

Fergie is prepared to splash a mega £14 million to land the Spanish international in the summer.
