Man Utd open talks with Real Madrid star Benzema

Manchester United have begun talks with Karim Benzema’s agent according to reports.

The Manchester Evening News suggests that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward met with Karim Djaziri, the representative of the Real Madrid striker, at The Savoy Hotel in London on Wednesday.

It is believed that the Red Devils are readying a £40million bid for Benzema, 27, and will look to push forward with a deal in the coming weeks.

Louis van Gaal is determined to add some star quality to his squad this off-season and has made Benzema, who scored 21 goals in all competitions for Real last season, one of his priorities.
