Man Utd make contact with Real Madrid's Salgado

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with the advisors of Real Madrid fullback Michel Salgado.

United chiefs have been alerted to speculation that Salgado is unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu after Real refused to extend his contract this year. His current deal has only a year to run.

Salgado's agent, Gines Carvajal, is believed to have been approached by a host of big European clubs, with United leading the chase. Arsenal have also been linked in the Spanish press.
