Man Utd, Liverpool in for Real Madrid target Senderos

Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the race for Servette defender Philippe Senderos.

The 17-year-old is also being chased by PSV Eindhoven and Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid are favourites to land the youngster after drawing up a pre-contract agreement for him.

"It is no surprise that top clubs like Manchester United are after him," the Swiss football journalist, Silvano Speranza, told the Independent.

"He is big, tall and technically gifted. He would be a perfect replacement for Laurent Blanc [at Manchester United]. He is young and has a lot of room to improve."

Gerard Houllier has been on the trail of the £2 million-rated player since the European Under-17 Championships.
